Where can I find advisory letters about mold exclusions under the standard homeowners policy forms?
You will find the Mold Advisory Letter on our website at [http://www.ldi.state.la.us]. Once you arrive at our website you need to select LDI Office Index, then Legal Department, then View Legal Documents and finally Advisories.
Where can I find the form which must be filed to inform the DOI that we are modifying our insurance policy?
You will need to submit the modified insurance policy to this Department along with all appropriate fees to be considered for approval. You may look on our web page, under insurers, and then policy form filers handbook. The filing fees have changed and are stated below. The filing fee for policy forms is $100 per product, $25 for filing of endorsements and $20 for adoption of filing organizations.
I was wondering if the state of Louisiana will allow companies to submit state filings via email. If so, are there any guidelines or requirements that need to be followed and what email address will accept these filings for this purpose.
The Louisiana Department of Insurance currently does not accept form filings via email. We do accept filings via the U.S. Mail Service and have recently been accepting life and annuity and property and casuatly form filings through a program called SERFF offered by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC). For more information on the SERFF program please contact the NAIC @ naic.org.
